Established in 1954, A to Z Supply was originally imagined as a hardware and feed store in a very rural Grass Valley.
In 1984, Dan Wheat, Sr. and his son Dan Wheat, Jr. purchased A to Z Supply and converted it into a full hardware store.
A to Z is very diverse in its inventory selection featuring plumbing, irrigation, beekeeping, pumps and a full line nursery. It really does carry everything from A to Z!

Dan bought the business in 1984 along with his son, Dan Wheat, Jr. Dan has a degree in water and electrical with a background in water and well. Dan is an avid Beekeeper and maintains 30 beehives.
Danny (aka DJ) is co-owner with Dan, Sr. at A to Z Supply. The two have owned the business since 1984. Danny is not only the owner, but also oversees all internet sales through this web site.
April is not only Garden Center Manager, she is also Dan, Sr.’s daughter. April has been with the business since 2002. She is a UC Davis Certified Master Food Preserver and volunteers regularly with Nevada County 4H.
As A to Z’s Office Manager and Bookkeeper, Terri holds all of A to Z’s departments together. Terri has been with A to Z Supply since 2003.
Steve is a Retail Clerk and has been with A to Z Supply since 2004. Steve is also an avid beekeeper.
Rob Slay has been a beekeeper for many years in southern Nevada County. He was raised here locally and graduated from Nevada Union High School. Rob and his wife, Lynn, raise bees. He participates locally with the Nevada County Beekeepers association and is enrolled in the Master Beekeeping Program at UC Davis. He has worked locally with 4H to have a county-wide beekeeping program.
